New director announced by the board!!!
If you missed the announcement on the home page - we have a new DIRECTOR. His name is Ben
Filippone. He comes to us from Monroeville, PA and has extensive music backgrounds in choral directing, voice, voice preparation
and training. Ben is excited to get started with the season and looks forward to working with our group.
The board really took time reviewing resumes, talking with references and ensuring we picked
the best candidate for the job. We are extremely excited with what Ben plans to bring to the organization.
Something to think about - We have been under the direction of Mr. Allan Link for 10 years
or more. We have found our "nitches" and probably know like the backs of our hands "Allan's Way", however, with change
comes new ideas, processes, rythyms, etc. I am asking each member to be very open-minded and willing to learn, practice and
perform to their BEST as we have always done in the past.
Should yo have any suggestions, comments, concerns, ideas, etc. please feel free to contact
me. Thank You
Ken
Thank You in again for your understanding, cooperation and assistance during the past four
months. Looking forward to a new era of music from the Mon Yough Community Singers.
Ken
OPEN POSITION - ACCOMPANIST
We are accepting resumes for the position of accompanist. Anyone interested or if you
know of anyone interested should submit their resume as soon as possible to either Ken or Judi. Responsibiliites and job description
can be discussed in detail with interested candidates.
Positions open within the organization
The board of directors, with approval of the membership at the general membership meeting,
has decided to decrease the size of the Board of Directors.
Along with the Executive Board, the offices of Membership and Fundraising will be
Directors.
All other offices will become committees. A list of these offices / positions is listed under
the Meet the Board Page. Anyone interested in holding a position within any of these offices should submit, in writing, notification
to Ken Obusek as soon as possible.
Storage and Rehearsal location
All equipment and property has been temporarily relocated to the basement at St. Angela Church.
We are still in the process of looking into a few other locations for a rehearsal and/or storage facility.
The board has decided until a permanent location can be found, we would begin our new year with rehearsals at St.
Angela.
